- Pay attention to the headline of all job leads. If a job lead states that you can make X amount of dollars in a short time (especially if it's a huge amount), then it is most likely a scam.
- Take notice if the job lead site has a contact email or telephone number. Most legitimate work at home companies has a real working phone number.
- Check to see how long a company has been in existence. Usually, a legitimate telecommute company has been online for quite a long time.
- Make sure the work at home site is not a free hosted site. If the site offering the opportunity/job, is hosted for free, it is most likely a scam.
- Always research any type of job before applying. You can research a company at the site below: search.bbb.org
A "real job" is when YOU work for an employer/company, and are not charged any registration or start-up fees.
