Description :

We are New Zealand based organization. We are looking for reputed and experienced service provider for our requirement of Data Entry Services. We have some historical documents and cards. We need converted them in digital format and data entry of the data from the digital card image. Approximately 4,28,000 documents and the total number of cards in the supporting indexes to be approximately 2,37,000. There are also approximately 1200 A4 pages of typewritten index entries. The information on the cards in mostly hand written and varies in layout, ink color and condition. It contains a large number of proper nouns, including many in Maori.
Scope of work:

1. Create digital images of the cards using a desktop scanner. Each card is represented by one image file. Image files are created in TIFF format, and then a smaller JPEG format file is derived from the original TIFF file.
2. The files have unique names that identify the card drawer and filing order of the original cards.
3. Create a DBTextworks database with one record for each card. Each record will contain the rekeyed text from the card and a link to the card image file.
4. We require machine readable text that exactly represents the information on the original card, including any spelling errors; truncated words etc – no interpretation should be undertaken. The file name of the image file must be included so that we can link the text to the card image.
   

Payment terms are negotiable. Interested service providers are requested to send their expression of interest on or before 4.30 pm on Friday 3 April 2009 via e-mail with pdf document, post, courier or hand delivered only.
